I bought this item as a Christmas present for my 3yr. old daughter. As with every present I buy, I opened the box to ensure that everything was the way it should be before wrapping it. The lid shuts tightly with a magnet and the ballerina and winding mechanism worked as expected. The drawers open easily and the front door shut fine though it does have a little bit of a stick to it just before closing completely. The only real problem I see with this jewelry box is with the wall paper like covering that is used. The design is very nice, but on both sides, there is obvious waves. The waves are not enough for me to send it back, but they made a very good purchase into one that will work for now. I'm sure my daughter won't notice the imperfections.

I got this item for my granddaughter's second birthday and she absolutely loves it. She has many small trinkets that she has collected of the years (two)and loves to fill the small drawers with her stuff. Since she loves to dance, the ballerina was perfect for her... Great product for a very young girl...

Just received this jewelry box today and the mechanism on the back to wind the musical ballerina does not work. It just keeps turning and turning. So angry that this was not checked before being shipped. This will be going back and I will not get another one.

My daughter only used it two/three times. The turn crank then got really loose; now the ballerina won't wind up. Very sad for my six year old daughter, who loved to dance around to the music.

Love it! I actually just made a negative review a minute ago because I thought the ballerina was not working. But...then...I found the wind up knob on the back of the box! Ha! Total user error. Happy, happy customer here. Love the box. SOOOO excited for my bday girl to see it tomorrow (she will be 4) and discover all the treasures I have included in it. :-)
