A decent value, PVC free, room for improvement Jul 24, 2010
By SunsetDweller I was looking for a PVC/Lead free lunch box for my kindergartner - that is easier said than done. It is easy to find "lead safe" lunch boxes, but not easy at all to find 100% lead free. This box is lead-free, in addition to being free of other toxics. The tie-dye design really appealed to my child as well, and I liked that it was fun without being too cutesy. Unfortunately, it just falls into the average category in terms of design and construction. The fabric seems cheap and flimsy, not durable. The interior is all white, so I'm just bracing for stains I can never get out. It is not washable. There are exterior pockets, but no interior pocket for ice pack or drink. It is not too roomy, either, nor does it have clips for a pack. THe design is pretty mediocre, but the print is nice and yes, it is free of the toxic crap so many other lunch bags have in them. I wish the fabric was a sturdier canvas, I wish the interior was a gray or darker color, I wish there was some sort of interior pocket or place for drinks, I wish it had clips, and I wish it came with a strap. I'd be willing to pay more for all of these things. But in the meantime, it will do, and my kid does love it.
Great Choice for mom and kid Oct 16, 2011
By Deidre My six year old son needed a new lunchbox and found this one when i had him checking out online options. It is sturdy, easy to clean and worth the money, and he loves its fun colors. win/win.
good lunchbox Nov 04, 2010
By ventingisok This is good lunchbox. My kid does not throw it around and she has been using it for only a month or so. Therefore, I don't know how well it is made. The zipper works well without binding. Only thing about this box is that it is a bit bigger than the standard size boxes I bought before. I would say overall dimensions are about 1 inch bigger. Now the box looks still empty even with a sandwich and a drink box. It also takes up more room in the back-pack. My kid does not seem to mind or even noticed the difference. She also picked out the design.
