Cute little robot, but makes the most annoying sounds. Aug 02, 2011

My son loves this thing. He calls it "Owl Robot" because the big eyes and the face somewhat looks like an owl. However, Momma had to do some surgery to get him to want to be around it and to actually play with it. If you have a seam ripper, a needle and thread and don't mind opening up this stuffed robot to make a few adjustments, then your house will be peaceful. Otherwise, you will think what my husband and I thought at first- that the designer of this toy must have been a mad and evil person. If you squeeze the robot, it lights up and makes the LOUDEST sounds (and there is no volume adjustment!) It starts with an almost warning siren and as soon as that stops (by this time, you're praying the noise stops), it then proceeds to play that old horse charging song (forgot the title). And it still keeps going... It has to be at least 2 full minutes of noise, and there is NO WAY TO SHUT IT OFF! My son wouldn't go anywhere near it.. So, instead of chucking it, I opened up the toy by going along the seams and opened the electronic box. The lights were ok, so I just clipped the wires of the speaker and sewed it back up. You could just as easily take the batteries out. If you don't want to do this and you don't like noisy toys you can't shut off, then don't buy this. It's so sad, because the thing is so cute! Why would they ruin it with the stupid noise????
