Horrible chemical smell Mar 16, 2011
By Dickens the Cat

Beware. This contains PVC, which is not mentioned in the description. We opened it and it had a chemical smell. I would not use this for a child's lunch! Try the environmentally friendly ones that say they do not contain PVC.

Great Lunch Box Aug 03, 2011
By April Woodard My 6 yr old daughter chose this lunch box out of dozens of others we saw on Amazon.com and also ones we saw in store. The size is perfect for us, it will hold a compartmentalized ziplock container and still have room for an ice pack which can be put in the mesh pocket on the inside. Another review mentioned a "horrible chemical smell" but I had to stick my nose to it to find it. There is a slight plastic smell (as with most new things) but it wasn't apparent when I opened the box. There is also a velcro band inside that will keep a water bottle upright, a nice zippered area on the front, and the outside seems like it will be easy to wipe clean. My daughter's last lunch box had a mostly fabric exterior and I had to wash it often as she would put it on the ground. Needless to say, it was not fun. The design is so cute! The monkey's face, hands, and belly are slightly raised as well as the the small flowers and parts of the larger ones. I can't yet comment on durability but it seems well made.

Passed endurance test (1 school year) Jun 06, 2011
By K. Sheppard What I expect from a kids' lunch box is that it holds up well for at least one school year. This lunch box passed the test. My 1st grader used it each day throughout the school year. Now that the year is over, it looks a little ratty with two very tiny rips, but it's still fully functional with working zippers. But he has outgrown the monkey design. This lunch box is a little softer around the sides than the stiffer Crocodile Creek lunch box. I've used both and like both (the Crocodile Creek lunch box also held up well for everyday use during the school year). Wish these lunch boxes lasted longer, but they are what they are.

Cute, but perhaps not durable enough Jun 13, 2011
By G. Luna I bought this for my daughter when she started Kindergarten. It's very cute and seems to fit quite a bit, but because I put a small ice pack on the front pouch, it's now tearing. Depending on how much lunch you're packing for your little one, I would perhaps look for something bigger. My daughter has two snack breaks, on top of her lunch break, so I should have ordered something bigger. Otherwise it's really cute and was a hit with my daughter.

Works for dogs (-: Apr 21, 2011
By Tom Long

My wife thinks I'm weird for doing this. I bought this to store a water dish, water bottle, leash, and clean up bags for my dog. It fits perfectly under the passenger seat of our car and we're always ready to walk the dog or offer him a drink. The bag is big enough to hold everything, easy to wipe off any messes, and I think it is very cute. (I'm pretty sure my dog agrees.) But, hey, I'm sure it works well for kids, too.
